This photo's emphasis is the two glowing rings in the mid center-top of the page. They shine very bright and most of area around it is very dark so it contrasts well. It shows my theme darkness fairly well because this looks like its in space. Space is filled with dark matter and dark energy that scientists still do not know much about. It is less dark then the last one but it still applies to my theme.

This photo's emphasis is the tattered unfinished circle in the center of the upper screen. The theme I have gone with is darkness. You can see darkness in the artwork because there are little whites and light colors. There is a large amount of strong dark black on the bottom of the page, the circle is dark, the stars that surround the light are really dark, and the lines are dark.

David Carson:

David Carson was a surfer dude that turned into a radical designer. I like his artworks because he uses  text in a way that isn't like others. He has text all over the place is different shapes and sizes, but it is still easy to read the message he is trying to send. He also has many different color themes and every artwork of his is unique. One example is the picture on below this post. David Carson blurs the background in order to make the text sharper and more important. I also like the different sizes to highlight key words. In the end I like David Carson because e is very creative with text.

     

      In my first project, I was only allowed to use line and shape tools. Also I can only use colors on the grey scale. For my emphasis I choose to make a circle, make it the darkest thing, and put a certain effect that makes it look worn and tattered. I also choose to put multiple of my lines through this circle as a common meeting point of the piece. I also put two star patterns around the circle in order to give a feeling that it is somewhat framed. The circle is also the biggest single item in the piece. I also made a blend behind the circle and made it very smooth around the circle to make it pleasing to look at. Using the same thought, as your eyes move away from the circle the blend gets more choppy and focuses the focus back to the emphasis, the circle. One last thing that supports the emphasis is that the dark, gapped lines start to disappear as you go down the piece.

      The movement starts at the top of the piece. I believe this is the case because not only is the emphasis up there, it is also smooth and more relaxing to look at. From there the slowly disappearing blend and the gapped lines lead the piece down the paper. As it goes down the paper, the stars get slightly smaller as well. Once the lines start to get choppy the movement slows down and once again the smaller details are more apparent. In the details there are still some fading lines that lead eyes down the paper again. The last thing that is noticed in the piece is the black typhoon in the bottom left corner. However I feel that due to the choppiness of the paper at the bottom, the emphasis is once again noticed primarily due to the fact that it is big and dark, but also the fact that the background is smooth and relaxing to look at.
